Zoe is a creative and enthusiastic designer, with a love for branding, editorial design, and practice-based research projects. Her design is influenced by a curiosity surrounding complex systems and relationships between ideas and she enjoys exploring how design can be crucial for influencing behaviour change and representing individual experience. Zoe’s sensory experience engaging with the world around her heavily informs her work and is observable in the tactile approach to her practice. Zoe is mindful, understanding, and considerate of her audience in the design choices that form the foundations of her visual communication. Zoe becomes an expert in her chosen topics and thrives in engaging with creative challenges and working resourcefully.
Mae Zoe yn ddylunydd creadigol a brwdfrydig, gyda chariad at frandio, dylunio golygyddol a phrosiectau ymchwil seiliedig ar ymarfer. Mae ei dyluniad yn cael ei ddylanwadu gan chwilfrydedd am systemau cymhleth a'r perthnasoedd rhwng syniadau ac mae'n mwynhau archwilio sut y gall dylunio fod yn hanfodol ar gyfer dylanwadu ar newid ymddygiad a chynrychioli profiad unigol. Mae profiad synhwyraidd Zoe wrth ymgysylltu â'r byd o'i chwmpas yn dylanwadu'n drwm ar ei gwaith ac yn weladwy yn ei dull cyffyrddol tuag at ei hymarfer. For her final project, Zoe developed 'Kift', a zine series based upon a combination of Zoe’s personal experience with dyspraxia, and other neurodiverse peoples’ experiences. ‘Kift’ is a local term used where Zoe is from - Pembrokeshire, West Wales - to describe something rubbish, broken, or useless - a word Zoe experienced a lot growing up when really her ‘kiftness’ was symptoms of dyspraxia.
The zines created are designed to challenge negative perspectives and reclaim the word as something positive, providing a vibrant, honest, and realistic portrayal of dyspraxia. Zoe believes neurodivergent individuals ought to be recognised for the unique skills and traits they have acquired because of their unique information processing, which can be embraced through a better understanding of the experiences of all neurodiverse traits.
Ar gyfer ei phrosiect olaf, datblygodd Zoe ‘Kift’, cyfres o zînau sy'n seiliedig ar gyfuniad o brofiadau personol Zoe gyda dyspraxia a phrofiadau pobl eraill sydd ag amrywiaethau niwrolegol. Mae 'Kift' yn derm lleol a ddefnyddir yn ardal Zoe - Sir Benfro, Gorllewin Cymru - i ddisgrifio rhywbeth sbwriel, wedi torri neu'n ddiwerth - gair a glywodd Zoe yn aml wrth dyfu i fyny, pan oedd ei 'kiftness' mewn gwirionedd yn symptomau o ddyspraxia.
Mae'r zînau a grëwyd wedi'u dylunio i herio safbwyntiau negyddol ac ailfeddiannu'r gair fel rhywbeth cadarnhaol, gan ddarparu portread bywiog, gonest a realistig o ddyspraxia. Mae Zoe yn credu y dylai unigolion niwroamrywiol gael eu cydnabod am y sgiliau a'r nodweddion unigryw maent wedi'u meithrin oherwydd eu prosesu gwybodaeth unigryw, y gellir eu cofleidio trwy ddealltwriaeth well o brofiadau'r holl nodweddion niwroamrywiol.
